This letter is written on behalf of Peter Kennedy and Kennedy Restorations.  We contracted with Peter to demolish and remove and existing deck and to design and build our new deck in June of 2008.  Kennedy Restorations had been recommended to us by friends in town and we have since passed his name along.
After our initial inquiry, Peter got back to us in a timely fashion and provided us with a fair estimate that was within the range of several other local contractors.  He came with a member of his crew and together they discussed the project with us an provided recommendations and solutions to any design and structural problems we anticipated.  Their experience and expertise was evident.
Peter and his construction crew followed the timeline we agreed upon.  They were flexible and open minded throughout the process as we added things like a sliding glass door from the house to the deck and upgraded the lattice work.  Communication was welcome and when the crew from Kennedy Restorations was on our property they were always professional, polite and accomodating to our needs as homeowners.
The project was completed on time and met our specifications.  We were more than satisfied with the price, design and workmaship.  We would certainly welcome the opportunity to work with Kennedy Restorations again in the future and would highly recommend Peter and his crew to others.

Dear Peter,

I wanted to take a moment to express my appreciation for the work you did finishing my basement this winter. 

Jen and I are extremely happy about the quality of craftsmanship and attention to detail put forward by you, your co-workers, and each of your sub-contractors.  Given my past experiences with contractors, I approached the project with some concern regarding whether you would be communicating your plans and schedules with us and whether you would solicit our opinions for even the simplest of decisions that needed to be made.  But it was clear from the start of the project that I had no reason to be concerned. 

Throughout the project you did an outstanding job of keeping us up to date on what you had accomplished, what you had left to accomplish, and what the timeframes were for completing particular tasks.  It?s incredibly helpful for a homeowner to be fully aware of project timelines, and I?m glad that I never felt in the dark as to what was happening in our home.

Jen and I appreciated that at no time did you simply assume what we wanted for a particular look or feature within the room.  You consistently asked us what we were looking for which prevented us from coming home and finding an unwelcome surprise.  Furthermore, each time we put our trust in you to make decisions on our behalf when Jen and I were unable to figure out what we should do (such as with where to place the foyer closet and whether to have the fireplace recessed a bit), we ended up finding ourselves very happy to have gone with your instincts and not ours!

Finally, it was great to see that you were able to complete the job without charging us any unreasonable or unexpected costs.  Everything was done according to the cost of the project you set forth in the contract.
